SWARTHMORE, Pa.–The Swarthmore College men's tennis team defeated the 38th-ranked Stevens Tech Ducks by a 5-4 score on Sunday, March 26 in the Mullan Tennis Center.
The Garnet led 2-1 after doubles and claimed the top three singles courts to clinch the win. The team of 
Mark Fallati and 
Josh Powell cruised to an 8-2 win at the first spot while 
Ari Cepelewicz and 
Thomas Vernier won 8-5 at no. 2.
In singles action, Fallati won 7-6(4), 6-1 for his second victory of the afternoon. Senior 
John Larkin routed his opponent in the second singles flight by a 6-2, 6-1 count while 
Simon Vernier overcame a set deficit for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 triumph.
Swarthmore opens Centennial Conference competition when it hosts Ursinus on Tuesday, March 28 at 4 p.m.
