ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse soared to a 14-7 win at Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.
Elizabeth Wainwright and Tess Wild combined for 10 of those goals with both players scoring season highs, Wainwright with six and Wild four. Briana Narzikul added two free-positon goals, and Andie Battin and Tessa Hannigan also scored. Freshman Sydnie Schwarz helped facilitate the Garnet offense, dishing out five assists.
Betsy Cohen recorded the win between the pipes, recording five saves in 41:46.
The Garnet scored first with Wainwright finding the unassisted goal three minutes into the game. Eastern tied the score, but Swarthmore retaliated with six straight and closed out the half with a 9-2 lead.
Swarthmore and Eastern played even in the second half with both teams scoring five.
Swarthmore overwhelmed Eastern on the draw, winning 17-of-22 draw controls. Sophie Peipher tallied five draw controls, Sadie Camilliere had four and Wild added three.
The Garnet are back in action on Wednesday at Goucher College.
