CHESTERTOWN, Md.–Four first-half goals by the Washington College Shorewomen proved to be insurmountable for the Swarthmore College field hockey team in a 5-0 road loss on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Riya Garg registered the team's lone shot on goal. Washington ran out to a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes and added one more before the expiration of the half. Swarthmroe's defense clamped down in the second, but could not muster the offense needed to find the back of the net.
The field hockey team looks to bounce back when it hosts nonconference opponent Oneonta during Garnet Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
