SWARTHMORE, Pa.–The Swarthmore College volleyball team brought its win streak to eight and remained undefeated at home after sweeping the visiting Bryn Mawr College Owls on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Sarah Girard led the team in the first set with 12 aces and five digs. The Garnet hit .462 in the frame and limited the Owls to a -.333 mark. In the second set,
Bridget Scott swung six kills to go along with three aces.
Bryn Mawr played its most competitive volleyball at the start of the third as the visitors led 6-5 before a 5-0 Garnet run turned the tide. Swarthmore also took 10 of the next 11 points to shut the door on a comeback and ended the match on a kill by
Guin Mesh.
Malia Scott,
Elise Cummings and
Alyssa Nathan all shared setting duties throughout the match as Swarthmore hit .431 overall with only four errors.
The volleyball team will travel to Glassboro on Thursday, Oct. 12 for a 7 p.m. match against nonconference foe Rowan. Swarthmore swept the Profs last season at Rowan's Labor Day Invitational.
