CHESTER, Pa.--Swarthmore College Men's Soccer took care of the Widener University Pride on Wednesday evening, winning the Derby Day showdown on the road 2-0. The Garnet scored twice before halftime to secure the victory.

Tommy Sheehan booted in a free kick at the end of the 40th minute, scoring his second career goal. Less than five minutes later,
Michael Nafziger, playing in his first game this season, received a pass from freshman
Quentin Millette to set up the score.
Swarthmore had two other shots on goal in the first half and then went on to take six more shots on goal in the second period. Swarthmore posted 21 total shots against the Pride and held the hosts to eight total attempts and only two on goal. Goalkeeper
Michael Thut recorded both saves as he earned his second win of the year.
Swarthmore improved to 30-3-1 historically against Widener and has won every meeting since 2007.Â
The Garnet return to the pitch on Saturday at 6 p.m. against Wesleyan University.
