BOX SCOREGETTYSBURG, Pa.–The Swarthmore College men's tennis team (10-5) made quick work of the Gettysburg Bullets on Friday, April 8, beating the hosts by a 9-0 score.
The Garnet led 3-0 after doubles with the regionally-ranked duo of
Mark Fallati and
Josh Powell and the no. 3 team of
James Hahn and
John Larkin winning by identical 8-3 scores.
Ari Cepelewicz and
Thomas Vernier also claimed victory at the no. 2 spot with an 8-2 rout.
In singles action,
Evan Han picked up the first point with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking in the fifth singles flight. Fallati and Cepelewicz became double winners with 6-1, 6-3 scores at no. 1 and no. 3 singles, respectively and Larkin won his fourth consecutive match with a 6-4, 6-1 decision. Hahn won 6-2, 6-4 at no. 4 and Vernier rounded out the afternoon with a 6-3, 7-5 triumph at no. 6.
Swarthmore looks to remain undefeated in conference play when it travels to nationally-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m.
