CARLISLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse fell on the road on Saturday in a Centennial Conference matchup with the Dickinson College Red Devils.
The Red Devils (8-6, 4-3 Centennial) held off the Swarthmore Garnet (5-9, 1-6) by a score of 16-4.
Four Garnet players scored in the loss: Elizabeth Wainwright, Tess Wild, Briana Narzikul and Lizzie Kolln.
Dickinson had the lion's share of attempted shots, out-shooting Swarthmore 42-17. Swarthmore senior Connie Bowen stopped 15 shots on goal while minding the net.
Tess Wild led the Garnet with four draw controls.
Dickinson's Sam Marmo tallied a quick hat trick to lead off the game before Narzikul scored off a pass from Kolln with 17:50 to play in the first.
Kolln followed with her 29th goal of the year with 15:29 to go. The Red Devils responded with a string of three goals, but Swarthmore ended the period with the final two goals. Wainwright knocked down a free-position shot to make it 7-3. Wild scored with 2:05 left in the half to bring Swarthmore within three.
However, the second half belonged to Dickinson, and the Red Devils took the game 16-4.
Swarthmore is back in action on Wednesday for the final home game of the year. The Garnet host Washington College at 7 p.m.
