ALLENTOWN, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse fell on the road Wednesday afternoon at Muhlenberg College 16-5.
Tess Wild and
Briana Narzikul led Swarthmore with two goals each.
Elizabeth Wainwright netted the Garnet's remaining goal.
Swarthmore started out strong, scoring two goals in the first 26 seconds. Wainwright put Swarthmore on the board nine seconds in. Narzikul took the opening draw, made a long pass ahead to Kolln who connected with Wainwright off the right post for the open look.
Narzikul scored 17 seconds later on another assist by Kolln. The play began with
Kathryn Restrepo scooping up a long draw and then passing to Kolln who took the ball behind the goal. Narzikul filled in from the right side, caught the pass from Kolln and finished the cut with her 20th goal of the season.
After scoring at will in the first minute, the Garnet went nearly 12 minutes before scoring again. Muhlenberg, in the meantime, leapfrogged ahead of Swarthmore with four goals.
Narzikul interrupted Muhlenberg's run with a goal with 17:47 to play following Kolln's third assist. Muhlenberg closed out the half on a 4-1 run.
The Mules' momentum carried over into the second half and they out-scored the Garnet 8-1 in the final period. Jordy Bonvini led Muhlenberg with six goals.
Connie Bowen recorded 15 saves for Swarthmore.
The Garnet (5-8, 1-5 Centennial) play at Dickinson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
