DALLAS, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Basketball pulled away from the Misericordia University Cougars in Sunday afternoon's non-conference game, winning 83-75. The Garnet improved to 4-0 with the win and handed the Cougars (4-1) their first loss of the season.
Sophomore's 
Henry Cousineau and 
Cam Wiley led the Garnet with 20 points and 19 points, respectively. Cousineau went 5-for-9 (55.6 percent) from 3-point range. Both Cousineau and Wiley came off the bench Sunday, scoring 39 of Swarthmore's 41 bench points. Misericordia only had seven points off the bench.
Zack Yonda also reached double digits, scoring 14 and going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Cousineau led the Garnet in rebounds in addition to points, grabbing nine rebounds. Four Garnet players corralled six rebounds. Swarthmore won the rebounding battle 51-43.
Swarthmore's ball control was improved Sunday as the Garnet committed a season-low 13 turnovers.
The Garnet led by 10 points in the first half following a 
Cam Wiley 3-pointer with 5:42 to play. Misericordia closed to within two points with 32 seconds left in the half before Cousineau knocked down a 3-pointer to close out the period. Swarthmore's lead reached 10 early in the second half, but a 12-0 Misericordia run gave the hosts the lead. Swarthmore responded with a 12-0 run of its own.
The streaks continued and Misericordia rattled off 10 straight points to even the score at 55-55 with 8:36 to play. The Garnet then went for a 12-point run over the next five minutes to gain control of the contest.
Swarthmore returns to action on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Muhlenberg College.
