CHESTERTOWN, Md.—Swarthmore College Women's Soccer improved to 10-1 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference with a road win at Washington College. The Garnet edged the Shorewomen 1-0 with
Caroline Khanna scoring the game-winning goal in the second half.
Washington College fell to 5-4-1 (0-3 Centennial) with the loss.
Both teams posted 13 shots and four on goal. Following a corner kick in the 18th minute, Swarthmore had an opportunity with a header by
Hannah Lichtenstein that bounded off the crossbar. The Garnet later had back-to-back shots on goal in the 30th minute and added another header that was saved in the 33rd minute. Swarthmore found the back of the net in the 58th minute. Sophomore All-American
Marin McCoy wove her way through the defense and crossed a quick pass over to fellow All-American
Caroline Khanna in the middle of the box for the score.
Amy Shmoys earned the win in goal for the Garnet, her fourth this season.
Swarthmore returns to the pitch on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Gettysburg College.
