ALLENTOWN, Pa.–Despite 17 saves by sophomore goalkeeper
Zelda Bank, the Swarthmore College field hockey team (4-12, 0-8 CC) fell 3-0 on the road to the 12
th-ranked Muhlenberg College Mules (13-1, 8-0 CC) on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Bank faced 31 shots between the pipes and made 11 stops in the first half alone. The Mules scored the first tally 2:35 into the contest off of a rebound and kept the pressure on Bank throughout the half.
Muhlenberg's Rachel Strow bagged her second goal of the game in the 16
th minute and Swarthmore registered its first shot on goal in the second half with
Kathleen Carmichael's shot, but were unable to cut the deficit. A third goal gave Muhlenberg insurance as they remained undefeated against Centennial Conference opponents.
Swarthmore plays host to Bryn Mawr and its head coach, Victor Brady '13, on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
