The Garnet began the day with a 25-20, 25-14, 25-18 win over the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels. Swarthmore broke the first set open with a seven-point run at 11-8 to take a double-digit lead it would not relinquish.
In the second, the Garnet had their best hitting percentage of the match (.441) as they recorded 20 kills and five errors in 34 attack attempts. After dropping the first two points, Swarthmore claimed the next eight to take firm control of the set.
Wallace closed out the match in the third with one of her 13 kills and completed a double-double with 11 digs while sophomore
Malia Scott was close with 10 digs and nine assists.
Alice Liu hit .500 with seven kills and two errors in 10 attempts while
Olivia Leventhal swung 11 kills for the second consecutive match. DuBois handed out a match-high 27 assists and
Bridget Scott recorded two block assists.
Swarthmore ended the tournament with a sweep of Emory & Henry and set the tone early with a dominant 25-4 performance in the first set. The team hit .562 in the frame with nine kills and no errors while limiting the Wasps to a -.160 percentage.
The second and third sets were closer than the first but the Garnet never trailed at any point in the match and routed their overmatched opposition in just under 50 minutes.
Wallace scored 15 more kills with no errors and Leventhal recorded seven of the team's 15 service aces.
Swarthmore will compete at the Neumann Knights Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19, opening against the hosts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
