Abby Schmidt at No. 2. Rallying from a 1-4 deficit, the duo defeated Aubrey Whitebloom and Ariel Danziger by a score of 8-5 to put the Garnet on the board. At No. 1, sophomore
Alli Wong and freshman
Maria Cuervo won 8-2 against Ashley Nguyen and Aileen Bevard.
Swarthmore led 2-1 entering singles play, where there were multiple three-set matches. Wong earned her second victory of the day at No. 1 with her 6-1, 6-3 win over Nguyen. Scheibmeir followed as a double winner, holding on at No. 2 against Whitebloom, 2-6, 6-0, 11-9. Freshman
Ashley Gao clinched the match at No. 4, beating Christina Cromwell in a close 6-4, 6-7(5), 10-4 decision.
The Garnet women will host Franklin and Marshall at 11am on
Saturday, Apr. 11.
