BOX SCOREFREDERICKSBURG, Va - The 30th-ranked Swarthmore College men's tennis team (3-2) suffered its second non-conference loss at the hands of 19th-ranked University of Mary Washington by a score of 7-2 on Friday, March 13.
Freshmen
Ari Cepelewicz and
Blake Oetting scored the team's wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Cepelewicz challenged David Lunding-Johansson, winning in close but straight sets, 7-6, 6-4. Oetting handled Evan Charles decisively, 6-0, 6-2.
Down 3-0 from a Mary Washington doubles sweep, the Garnet continued to fight in other singles play, with two players pushing their matches to three sets. Freshman
Mark Fallati ultimately fell at the No. 2 position, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8, while classmate
Michael Song was edged out at No. 5, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4.

Swarthmore returns to the court next Tuesday, March 17, when the men host second-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 7:30 p.m.
