Maria Cuervo earned the first point of the match at No. 1 doubles, defeating Irene Chen and Margaux Kabodian, 8-5. The No. 2 team of junior

Anna Scheibmeir won 8-6 over Lauren Rasmussen and Olivia Conover, while freshmen
May Dong and
Sophia Schuster finished doubles play, prevailing over Rachel Barry and Jessica Scott by a score of 8-1 at No. 3.
Domination by the Garnet continued into singles competition, with Wong and Cuervo winning their matches at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, both by scores of 6-0, 6-1. Freshman
Ashley Gao defeated Conover at No. 4, 6-1, 6-3, as classmate
Rachel Bronkema took No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 6, Junior
Abby Schmidt beat Scott 6-1, 6-0. Freshman
Anna Scheibmeir closed out the match when she edged out Chen at the No. 1 spot, 1-6, 6-4, 10-6.
The women will begin Centennial Conference play on March 21 at McDaniel College.
