SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's basketball team (1-1) kicked off the Swarthmore Tip-Off Tournament in style on Saturday, Nov. 21 with a 60-47 win over the visiting Neumann Knights.
Senior

The Garnet came out strong in the first quarter as Jowdy sank three treys, Deckard made two, and

The Knights cut the deficit down to five with a three-pointer at 5:32 remaining, but a three by Jowdy and a Scott layup returned the Garnet's double-digit lead. Scott scored twice more in the final 90 seconds of the half as Swarthmore had 37-26 lead heading into the break.
In the third, the Garnet earned its largest advantage of the contest with a 21-point margin after an 8-0 run in just over a minute. O'Neil scored five of her seven points in the frame and handed out two rejections as the Swarthmore defense limited Neumann to 12 points.
The Garnet conclude tournament play on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3:00 p.m. against Wesleyan University (CT). The Cardinals claimed a narrow, 61-60 victory over Randolph-Macon in earlier Tip-Off Tournament action.
