ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's tennis team (7-8, CC 6-2) suffered its second conference loss by a score of 6-3 at Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, April 22.
 
Junior Gayatri Iyengar and sophomore Jackie Lane put the squad on the board with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles over Jen Goldberg and Gabriela Contino. Muhlenberg picked up points at No. 1 and 2 doubles, jumping to a 2-1 lead ahead of singles.
 
Senior Lia Carlson rebounded from her doubles match to defeat Sara Finger at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 1-6, 10-6. Lane then earned her second victory of the day dominating 8-2 at No. 6. The Mules, however, claimed No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 singles to clinch the win.
 
Swarthmore returns to the court tomorrow, Apr. 23 to take on Haverford College at home with a chance to qualify for the Centennial Conference Tournament. Play will begin at 4:30 p.m.
