BOX SCORECARLISLE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's tennis team punched its ticket to the Centennial Conference Tournament by defeating Dickinson in a 9-0 rout on Saturday, Apr. 19 on the road.
The Garnet, who are ranked sixth regionally by the ITA, first swept the three doubles matches. Senior
Anthony Collard and freshman
Thomas Vernier most notably recorded an 8-2 win at the No. 2 spot.
Collard began Swarthmore's dominance in singles play by earning an easy 6-0, 6-0 win over Ari Blask in the No. 1 position. Senior
Max Kaye won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and freshman
John Larkin triumphed by set scores of 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 3. Junior
Irving Stone as well as seniors
Preston Poon and
Christian Carcione also won their singles matches to complete the sweep of the Red Devils.
Swarthmore (9-7, CC 6-1) visits Washington College on Tuesday, Apr. 22 at 4 p.m.
