CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Swarthmore College women's tennis team (0-5) concluded its spring break campaign in Claremont with an 8-1 loss to No. 15-ranked Sewanee on Thursday, March 13.
Sophomore
Jackie Lane pulled out a challenging two-set match at No. 6 singles to earn the Garnet's point. She defeated Elike Packer 7-6 (2), 6-4.
The Sewanee women gained an early lead, sweeping the doubles matches and then continued their rally in singles action. At No. 5 singles, freshman
Olivia Cheng pushed her opponent to three sets, but Sewanee's Kate Johnston captured the team's eighth point 7-5, 2-6, 10-4.
The next match for Swarthmore will be its first in Centennial Conference action against McDaniel on Saturday, March 22 at 1:00 p.m.
