SWARTHMORE, Pa. - With a 5-0 win against Dickinson, the Swarthmore College women's tennis team (13-3, 9-1) secured its spot in the Centennial Conference finals for the second year in a row.
The victory against the third-seeded Red Devils means the second-seeded Garnet advances to take on the first seed Johns Hopkins tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. in Baltimore.
A strong start was the key for the team's success today, and with a doubles sweep the Garnet gained a 3-0 advantage. Senior

Lia Carlson defeated Lavery/Rodgers at No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-4. Juniors
Katie Samuelson and
Brooke Wilkins dominated at No. 2 doubles, giving up only one game to Hedderich/Altholtz. Senior
Stephanie Chia and junior
Epiphany English won the third point for the team in a tight contest at No. 3 doubles, downing Cantor/Diamond 8-6.
Freshman
Jackie Lane and Chia earned the two singles points needed for the team victory. Lane cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 6, and Chia followed with a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 4.
Swarthmore will face the defending champion Blue Jays tomorrow, May 5th, at 3:00 PM.
