SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Down 3-0 after doubles and 4-1 in singles, the Swarthmore College women's tennis team (7-2, 4-0) staged a remarkable comeback, rallying to defeat visiting TCNJ (12-1) by a score of 5-4 on Sunday afternoon from the Faulkner Courts.

The comeback win snaps the Lions' 12-match winning streak.

Junior Lia Carlson (7-6 (3), 6-2), senior Emily Rosenblum and senior Kelsey Johnson all won hard-fought matches in singles 1 through 3 to close out the match. Johnson saved two match points in the second set tiebreaker and eventually won in three sets (2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-1) while Rosenblum won the match with her 7-6 (4), 6-4 win. Sophomore Gayatri Iyengar and senior Stephanie Chia were the other winners in singles play.

Down 3-0, Iyengar got the Garnet on the board with 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles. TCNJ's Sarah Lippincott followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles over freshman Jackie Lane, putting Swat on the brink of defeat. Chia responded with 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 4, setting up the epic rally. Next up, Carlson and Johnson outlasted their opponents to even the match 4-4. Rosenblum sealed the comeback win with her 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win over TCNJ's Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette.

Swarthmore returns to Centennial play on Tuesday when it hosts Ursinus (4:00 p.m.).
