POMONA, Calif. - Junior Anthony Collard won at No. 1 singles for the third-consecutive match, but the No. 27 Swarthmore College men's tennis team (3-5) came up short in the Stag-Hen Invitational fifth-place game, falling to No. 12 Case Western 8-1.
Collard defeated Case's Christopher Krimbill 6-4, 6-1 for Swarthmore's lone point. No. 3 Preston Poon and No. 5 Irving Stone both lost in three sets.
Swarthmore returns home and opens Centennial Conference play on Wednesday against Ursinus. Play is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
