Alderman

Ethan Alderman

Ethan Alderman joined the Swarthmore athletic training staff as the Associate Athletic Trainer in July 2024.

Alderman arrives at Swarthmore with a decade of experience in the athletic training field. At his most recent stop, Alderman served as an athletic trainer at West Chester University, where he provided care for basketball and women’s rugby, for two years. He has also worked as a certified athletic trainer for Nemours Children’s Health since June 2023. 

Before joining the Rams, Alderman was the Head Athletic Trainer at Immaculata University for three years. Alderman provided care for women’s soccer, men’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s track & field, and men’s and women's cross country. He also hired, assigned and managed two athletic trainers during his time with the Mighty Macs. 

Early in his career, Alderman made stops at Concord University and the University of Texas Arlington. Alderman broke into college athletics as a graduate assistant with a two-year stint at Arlington, before serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at Concord for two more years. 

While at Concord, Alderman oversaw football, men's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field, while also providing supervision to a staff of four graduate assistant athletic trainers. He also served as an adjunct professor, teaching kinesiology and therapeutic modalities.

Alderman earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in May 2013 from Ithaca College. He went on to earn his Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Texas Arlington in May 2016.
