Ed O'Malley

    Assistant Women's Tennis Coach

Ed O'Malley is in his third season as the assistant coach for the women's tennis team and brings a variety of experiences working with top level athletes.

Coach O'Malley began his coaching career at the world-renowned Harry Hopman International Tennis Academy in Florida. While coaching there for 10 years, he worked with many national and world ranked players including Davis Cup players from the USA, India, Japan, Spain, and Australia. He also trained and worked with former world ranked #2 player Andrea Jaeger and French and Australian Open Champion Mary Pierce.

Prior to coaching collegiate tennis, he directed the tennis program at Cooperstown Country Club in Cooperstown, N.Y. for three years.

In 2000, he took over as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Oneonta State University and immediately made an impact compiling a 39-14 record in three seasons and was named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year in 2003.

In addition to his duties at Oneonta, he was also the director of Binghamton Tennis Center in Binghamton, NY and in 2002 was named the USPTA Coach of the Year in the New York State West Region.

He currently resides in Pottstown, PA and is a graduate of business administration from Oneonta University.
