Swarthmore College Athletics

Charlie Kennedy has been working with the Swarthmore Swimming teams since 1997. A swimming technique expert, he enjoys working with the multifaceted Swarthmore student-athletes. Kennedy is also the head coach of the Suburban Seahawks Club, a regional powerhouse and nationally recognized program. In his tenure at Suburban, Kennedy has coached hundreds of swimmers of all ages, including standouts Brendan Hansen, a 2004 and 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, and Grace Cornelius and Corrie Clark, both individual USA National Champions. Kennedy was received many accolades including being named the Speedo Middle Atlantic Age Group Coach of the Year on multiple occasions.

An alumnus of the University of Iowa, Kennedy majored in music and Russian, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He was a three-time captain and held college records in five individual events. An accomplished composer, arranger, and performance artist, Kennedy has been a professional musician since 1981.
