Lauren Walker - a standout goalkeeper for the Garnet from 2006-09 – has been an assistant coach for the women's soccer team since graduation.  Lauren helps with all coaching duties but her primary responsibility is training Swarthmore’s stellar goalkeepers. She is currently working with the EPYSA Olympic Development Program as a goalkeepers coach.

Walker joined the Garnet softball coaching squad in the spring of the 2013 season.

As a goalkeeper, Walker was a central force in the turnaround of Swarthmore women's soccer during her tenure, leading the Garnet to consecutive ECAC Championships and the Centennial Conference playoffs three straight years.  In her junior season for the Garnet, Walker was named D3kicks.com All-American and was ranked 2nd in the country in save percentage (0.915) and goals against average (0.27).

Her six saves in a 4-3 win over No. 1-ranked College of New Jersey in September 2008 put Swarthmore on the national soccer map. Walker was named All-Region and received three All-Centennial selections in four years at Swarthmore, setting school records for shutouts (28) and goals-against average (0.70). The MVP. of the 2008 E.C.A.C. South Region Championship, Walker also holds Centennial Conference records for shutouts in a season (10) and lowest GAA in a season (0.27).

A native of Fallston, Md, Walker graduted from the College in 2009 with a degree in psychobiology. In 2009, Walker was picked up by AC Diablos of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
