Elyse Tierney is from sunny San Diego, California. She graduated with the Class of 2015 with a double major in psychology and German studies. A dual-sport athlete while at Swarthmore, she played defense on the soccer team and midfield on the lacrosse team. As a member of the lacrosse team, she scored 75 goals in three seasons and was named All-Centennial Second Team in 2015.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Elyse was also a leader of Speak2Swatties her senior year. For the past two years she has been doing psychology research in Denver, Colorado, with moms and babies on the effects of stress on baby development. She is currently completing a master’s in social work at Bryn Mawr College and interning at the Kirkbride Center for addiction and rehabilitation. Her favorite color is blue, she loves long walks on the beach, tacos, and sushi, and her star sign is Leo.
