John Noon has been an assistant cross country and track and field coach at Swarthmore since the 1999-2000 season. He has worked with the Garnet jumpers since 2014. In his tenure as the jumps coach, his athletes have won 12 Conference Championships and finished in the top-three 20 other times. He has also helped guide the multi-athletes to one conference title and four top-three places in the heptathlon and pentathlon.
In 2025, Hannah Swale earned All-America Second Team distinction with a 16th-place finish in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Noon was a two-year captain and four-year letter winner in track & field at Drexel University. He most notably won a gold medal at the North Atlantic Conference Championships as a member of the 4 x 100 relay squad and holds a school record with the 4 x 400 indoor team.
Before Swarthmore, Noon served as an assistant coach of the Drexel cross country and track & field programs from 1996 to 1998.
Noon earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel. He also received a master's in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and currently works as a biomechanical engineer.
