Jen Hilgenberg begins her third season as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team.
Prior to Swarthmore, Hilgenberg spent six years as the head women's basketball coach at Immaculata High School in Somerville N.J. During her six years at Immaculata, Hilgenberg guided the team to the county championship and was honored as the Newark Star Ledger Coach of the Year during her first season.
Hilgenberg played college basketball at nearby Villanova University from 2001 to 2005. In her sophomore year, she was a member of the team that broke UConn's 70-game winning streak, won the Big East Championship and advanced to the Elite Eight. A two-year starter and captain as a senior, Hilgenberg received the Team Defensive award as a junior and Big East Conference Sportsmanship award as a senior.
After graduating from Villanova with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, she went on to work in sales and marketing for various companies while also becoming a certified personal trainer.
