Josh Schofield

Josh Schofield

Josh Schofield has served as the assistant coach at Swarthmore from 2003-06 and 2008-11, 2013 and as interim head coach during the 2012 season.  In 2004 and 2005, he helped Swarthmore advance to the Round of 16 at the Division III National Team Championships. They finished the 2004 season with a final regional ranking of No. 4 and a national ranking of No. 16. In 2006, Swarthmore advanced to the quarterfinals of the National Team Championships for the first time since 1991; they also achieved a final regional ranking of No. 2, and a national ranking of No. 11. During the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Josh served as an assistant coach at Penn.

Josh is a 2001 graduate of Villanova University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a concentration in Russian area studies. He then earned a master’s degree in Russian/Eastern European studies from Florida State University in 2003, followed by a Master of Education in sport and recreation administration from Temple University in 2006. While at Villanova he participated on the Wildcats tennis team, was named a Big-East Academic All-Star from 1999-2001 and was a member of the student athlete advisory council from 1999-2000.

In 2012, Josh captured the USTA National Men's 30 Grass Court Singles Championship.
