Pontillo '13 returns to the sidelines after recently moving back to the greater Philadelphia area. Pontillo last graced the Clothier Field Stadium as he captained Swarthmore in 2012 when the Garnet advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. He played in 74 matches during his Swarthmore career, starting 67 of those. He was named Regional All-America and first-team All-Centennial Conference his senior season. The Garnet earned NCAA bids in three of Pontillo's four seasons, reaching the Sweet 16 twice. He was named Academic All Conference three times, and team captain both his junior and senior years.
After graduating with a B.A. in Economics and Religion, Pontillo served in the Peace Corps before attending the University of Michigan. At Michigan, he earned both an M.S. in Environment and Sustainability as well as an MBA from the Ross School of Business.
