BIO:

Brandon Hodnett joined the Swarthmore College Athletics team prior to the 2015-16 school year as the Director of Athletics Communications. In this role, Hodnett produces and curates all of the statistical, written and visual content on SwarthmoreAthletics.com and its associated social media accounts. The Athletic Communications department manages all of the gameday operations at Swarthmore including producing programs, operating scoreboards, announcing, keeping statistics, video broadcasting and hiring student workers to assist with those tasks and more.

Hodnett has a bachelor's degree in creative writing, and has a master's degree in communication from Villanova University and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Prior to working at Swarthmore College, he worked in athletic communication for four years at nearby Eastern University and worked alongside Swarthmore baseball head coach Matt Midkiff during his time there. Hodnett also has worked with the NBA D-League broadcasting crew for the Delaware 87ers and takes on a number of other freelance video projects. Additionally, he volunteers with his church's live broadcasting platform. Some of his featured work can be found on his website MusementCreative.com.

Hodnett has managed several NCAA Tournaments. He was the co-host of the NCAA women's volleyball regional in 2011 and the host of NCAA Tournament rounds for women's soccer in 2015 and 2018, men's basketball in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and men's soccer in 2020. He has covered at least one varsity team sport in the NCAA Tournament each year he's worked in athletics. Highlights from his career include volunteering at the NCAA D1 Men's Basketball Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight at the Wells Fargo Center in 2016, traveling to China with Swarthmore Volleyball in 2017, and photographing the 2018 D3 Baseball College World Series and the 2019 D3 Men's Basketball National Championship.

He is enthusiastic about the latest photo and video technology, especially when it comes to drones. Two of his drone videos have been listed in the top 30 aerial college tours.

He and his wife Shannon live in Chalfont, Pennsylvania.
