TJ Ferrick enters his third season with the Garnet after joining the Swarthmore College men's basketball staff as an assistant coach during the 2019-20 season.

In his first season with the Garnet, men's basketball put together its most successful season in program history as the squad went 28-1 overall after spending the entire season ranked No. 1 in the nation. Swarthmore advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, but had their season shortened due to the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament.

Ferrick played four years of college basketball at Earlham College, where he served as a team captain during his senior season. He graduated in 2010 with a philosophy degree, while studying African & African American Studies as a minor. Ferrick worked as an Upper School English teacher for 10th & 12th grade for 11 years.

The South Philadelphia native served as the assistant varsity boys basketball coach and the junior varsity head coach for Penn Charter from 2011-2019. He has also coached boys middle school basketball (2018-19 season), girls varsity/JV basketball (2021 season), and boys middle school tennis (2022 season).

Ferrick currently serves as the General Manager of Pro Skills Basketball Philly and as the City of Basketball Love Director of Camps.
