Jim Weber '84

Jim graduated from Swarthmore in 1984 with a degree in Political Science. He was a walk-on letterman in three different sports (football, baseball, and cross country) and started at wide receiver during the football team’s historic 1981-1983 seasons that included MAC and Centennial Conference championships. Off the field, he served as writer, Sports Editor and then Editor-In-Chief of the Phoenix while also creating a weekly sports-themed comic strip that was ultimately featured in a New York Times profile of the football program in 1982. More recently, Jim contributed his creative talents to the Football Alumni Reunion committee as part of their 2025 Garnet Weekend event.
 
Following Swarthmore, Jim enjoyed a 40+ year career in marketing and advertising that included stints as the Chief Marketing Officer at Fossil, Inc. and Chief Marketing & Experience Officer at Comerica Bank. Since 1986, he has resided in Dallas, Texas, where he and his wife Adele have raised two daughters, Lauren and Claire. Jim is an avid marathoner who has completed 16 races, including three appearances at the Boston Marathon.Â
