Frank Brown graduated from Swarthmore with Honors as a Political Science major in 1968. Frank and Vera (Grant) Brown '70 got engaged in McCabe Library in what is now the Color Room, which they have dedicated to Swarthmore's "matchbox couples". They married 11 days after Frank's graduation and celebrated their 55th anniversary last June. Frank received an MRP (Master of Regional Planning) degree from University of North Carolina in 1970 and worked for 2 years as a planner. He then earned his JD degree with Honors from Rutgers University School of Law in 1975. Since 1975 he has been an attorney specializing in estate planning and estate administration. Vera and Frank are partners in their law firm Murphy, James, Brown & Brown, LLC. Frank also has been the Village Attorney for the Village of Wesley Hills (where he and Vera maintain their primary residence) since its incorporation in 1982. Frank was the Sports Director of WSRN, broadcaster of the football and men's basketball games for all 4 of his years at Swarthmore, student manager of the baseball team, president ofKWINK in his Senior year, and the College's Sports Information Director in his Junior and Senior years. Since graduation he and Vera have continued to be avid fans of Swarthmore athletics teams and attend as many games as possible. He and Vera have 2 children, Ken (an attorney) and Laura (formerly a social worker) and 2 granddaughters, Cassidy (age 17) and Madeleine (age 16), and spend much of their time in northern Virginia in order to be with them.
