Aimee MacFarland

Aimee MacFarland has been a Swarthmore College assistant field hockey coach since 2022. The Garnet have put together four consecutive winning seasons and hold a 43-32 record since MacFarland joined the staff. 

Acting as the interim head coach in 2025, MacFarland led the Garnet to a 10-9 overall record with a 7-3 conference mark. Swarthmore earned the fourth seed in the Centennial Tournament and made its third-straight postseason appearance.  

MacFarland joined the Garnet after spending two years as the assistant field hockey coach at Dickinson College. During the 2021 season, the Red Devils finished with a 7-3 conference mark while advancing to the Centennial Conference Championship. 

Before starting her coaching career, MacFarland graduated from Delaware Valley University where she was a four-year starter for the Aggies. MacFarland was a standout defender and midfielder, starting all but one game in her career and serving as a team captain as a senior. She was also involved on campus as a peer mentor, a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as the vice president during her senior year.

While at Delaware Valley University, MacFarland earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. She is currently finishing up a Masters of Sports Management from Arkansas State University.
