Nate Burns is entering his first season with the Garnet in 2019 as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
Before arriving at Swarthmore, Burns spent the 2018 season at Elizabethtown College where his primary duty was to oversee and develop the pitching staff. In his first year leading the pitchers, the Blue Jays tabbed two pitchers on the Landmark All-Conference list. Prior to his time at Elizabethtown, Burns worked as an intern coach at Pro5 Baseball Academy based out of Holly Springs, N.C., where he assisted with the development of some of the area’s premier athletes.
Burns is a graduate of Lancaster Bible College where he received a bachelor's degree in sport management as well as Biblical studies. The Lancaster native was a three-year team captain and helped lead the Chargers to the school wins record in 2016 as well as being awarded Northeast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-NEAC in 2017.
