Dan Gusovsky

Dan Gusovsky joined Garnet baseball as an assistant coach in 2016-17. He helped lead Swarthmore to its first Centennial Conference title and first Division III World Series appearance in 2018.

He came to Swarthmore after one year as an assistant coach at William & Mary in 2015-2016 season, during which W&M went onto win the first CAA Championship.

Gusovsky spent 2014 coaching at his alma mater Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. In his one season with the Lyons, he helped them to a 25-win campaign, the team's 16th straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title, and its 17-straight NEWMAC postseason appearance. As the team's hitting coach, Gusovsky helped the team to a .306 batting average with 80 doubles, 14 triples, 15 homers, and 248 RBI.  Under his guidance, five players garnered all-region honors at the end of the season.

A 2013 Wheaton graduate with a bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in economics, Gusovsky appeared in 143 games, which included 133 starts as a catcher, for the Lyons over his four-year career. Gusovsky posted a .306 (152-for-497) batting average, scored 68 runs, notched 38 doubles, three triples and three home runs, drove in 92 RBI, compiled a .412 slugging percentage and a .988 fielding percentage. Gusovsky also served as a co-captain of the 2013 squad and was the point person during that season as well for Wheaton's White Ribbon Campaign. Gusovsky's other individual honors include two All-Region (NEIBA & D3baseball.com) selections and one New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference honor.

From 2010-2013, Wheaton went 139-45 overall and captured four New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season titles and tournament championships. The Lyons also appeared in the NCAA Tournament four times and finished second overall in the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

The Andover, Massachusetts native graduated with a degree in political science and a minor in economics from Wheaton in 2013. He went on to get a job at Roscoe Properties in Austin, Texas for a year before getting into the coaching ranks.
