SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 8 Swarthmore College men's tennis team started the NCAA Tournament strong with a 4-0 shutout of Allegheny College in the second round on Saturday.

Nikola Galov,
Andres Fente, and
Dylan Hayes Gilbert were all victorious for the Garnet, who advance to Sunday's Round of 16 matchup against No. 9 Carnegie Mellon University. The Tartans blanked Washington and Lee University, 4-0, in the other second-round matchup.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lindstrom and Zhang made quick work of their opponents at third doubles, earning a 6-1 victory. Melnikov and Koduri then secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the top spot. Fente and
Kai Chen held a 5-4 advantage at second doubles when play was halted.
- Galov cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the fourth position to begin singles action. Gilbert battled to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at sixth singles to get Swarthmore one point away.
- Fente had the clinching honor, picking up a 6-0, 6-1 decision at fifth singles to end the match. Melnikov, Lindstrom, and
Rishi Verma were all leading their respective matches when Fente grabbed the winning point.
