SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 10 Swarthmore College men's tennis team captured its sixth consecutive victory with a 5-2 decision over No. 19 University of Mary Washington on Sunday.

Max Lindstrom rolled to a 6-1 victory at third doubles to start the match. The Eagles countered with a 6-3 win at the top spot.

Kai Chen then pulled out a 6-4 triumph at the second flight to give the Garnet a 1-0 lead.

Michael Melnikov and
Max Lindstrom both produced thrilling comeback wins at first and second singles respectively. Melnikov dropped his opening set 2-6 before rallying for 6-4 and 6-1 victories. Lindstrom suffered a tough tiebreak loss in his opener, 6-7 (3-7), before rebounding to win the next two, 6-3 and 6-4.
- UMW earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at third singles but
Rishi Verma got Swarthmore back on track with a 6-1, 6-4 success at the fourth spot. Both matches at fifth and sixth singles went the distance with
Lalith Suresh coming away with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 triumph for the Garnet at the fifth position. The Eagles grabbed the victory at the sixth flight, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
