ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Swarthmore College baseball team put forth a complete effort in a dominant doubleheader sweep versus Cairn University on Sunday. The Garnet took the opener, 11-0, before winning the nightcap, 18-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet got on the board with two runs in the third. Sullivan drew a lead-off walk and later scored on a single by Peterson. Peterson crossed the plate on a double steal to give Swarthmore a 2-0 advantage.
- In the fourth, Kedar reached on a bunt single before stealing both second and third. Sullivan followed with a single up the middle to up the Garnet lead to three. Swarthmore broke it open with eight runs in the fifth. The Garnet tallied six hits in the inning and capitalized on a Highlanders error. Kedar and Sullivan each drove in a run on a triple and double respectively to highlight the frame.
- Meanwhile, Brady flummoxed the Cairn lineup, not allowing a baserunner until a lead-off walk in the fourth. He hit a batter to begin the fifth and those were his only blemishes through six innings of work. Needing just three more outs to secure a no-hitter, he struck out the lead-off man in the seventh. However, the bid then came to an end on a hard-hit ball to center. Brady shook it off and forced a fly out then a groundball fielder's choice to complete the shutout.
