No. 14 Women’s Soccer Settles for Draw at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. - The No. 14 Swarthmore College women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw at Dickinson College on Wednesday night. The Garnet recorded their ninth shutout of the season and third consecutive clean sheet, holding opponents scoreless in six of their last seven contests.

Sofie Aird continued her remarkable senior campaign with two saves to record her sixth shutout of the season. The senior currently ranks among the nation's top-five in both save percentage and goals-against average. Aminah Evans, Bela Odhiambo and Zoe Finelli anchored the defense, each logging 90 minutes to help contain the opposition.

Swarthmore outshot Dickinson 19-10, including a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal. Ava Gizzie led the Garnet with eight shots, putting three on target. Celia Kanellakos was a massive threat in the first half, generating three shots on goal to pressure the Red Devils.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aird made several early saves to keep the Red Devils off the scoreboard, highlighted by an outstanding leaping stop in the 17th minute to deny a shot headed toward the left corner.

- The Garnet generated several scoring opportunities early in the contest, with Kanellakos putting three shots on goal in the opening 20 minutes. However, the Dickinson goalkeeper came up with several excellent saves to keep Swarthmore off the board. Gizzie later beat the keeper with a strike, but had their attempt deflect off the post in the 25th minute.

- Swarthmore outshot the Red Devils 11-4 in the opening half, putting five shots on goal. Kanellakos led the Garnet with three shots on target, while Charlotte Sims added two attempts on goal. Aird made a couple of saves and cut off several centering passes to limit Dickinson's scoring opportunities.

- Jordan Vrees and Charlotte Carleton each put a shot on goal early in the second half, but neither could find the back of the net against the Dickinson keeper. The Devils outshot the Garnet 5-3 in the opening 20 minutes but failed to put a shot on target.

- Gizzie put three shots on goal in the final 15 minutes, but could not break the scoreless deadlock. Dickinson struggled to generate offense late in the half, but survived a dangerous Swarthmore attack to force a scoreless draw.
