SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 13 Swarthmore College men's tennis team got back in the win column with a 7-0 thrashing of No. 21 Christopher Newport University on Sunday.
 
The Garnet won all nine matches in the contest. Michael Melnikov, Kai Chen, and Max Lindstrom all earned a pair of victories.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Andres Fente and Chen got things started with a 6-2 win at second doubles. The team of Utham Koduri and Melnikov secured the doubles point for Swarthmore with a 6-3 triumph at the top spot. Winston Zhang and Lindstrom won their seventh straight match with a 6-3 success at third doubles.
 
- Lindstrom earned his second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 decision at second singles. Melnikov battled through a close match but came out with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-1) victory at the top flight.
 
- Lalith Suresh clinched the match for the Garnet with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph at third singles. It was the seventh win in a row for the junior. Rishi Verma took his match at the fourth position in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5.
 
- Aamish Pal came out on top at sixth singles with a 6-4, 6-3 success. Chen concluded the match with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) victory at the fifth spot for his fifth consecutive win.
