SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 13 Swarthmore College women's swimming team came out on top in its home opener versus a tough Salisbury University team, 164-98, on Saturday.
Genine Collins led the way for the Garnet, posting two individual wins and setting a Ware Pool record in the 50 free.
Elle Anthony also picked up a pair of individual victories for Swarthmore.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Collins grabbed her first win of the day in the 50 free, posting a NCAA B-cut time of 23.25. The effort also set a new pool record, breaking her own mark of 23.30 set in 2024. Collins's victory led a Garnet sweep in the event with
Riley Bacinski and
Ainsley Jane Tambling taking second (24.79) and third (24.93) respectively.
- Swarthmore also claimed the top three spots in the 100 free with Anthony first (52.95),
Ava Craig second (53.95), and Tambling third (55.06). Anthony also won the 100 breast in 1:06.65 with
Annabelle Hoover coming in third (1:08.26).
- Collins earned her second triumph of the meet in the 100 fly, touching in 57.33. Bacinski finished third (58.63) in the event. The Garnet went 1-2 in the 200 medley relay. The team of
Maya Ambardekar, Anthony,
Norah Rutkowski, and Collins placed first (1:46.80) while the group of
Marin Norlander,
Cindy Wang,
Margaret Sawa, and Bacinski followed in second (1:49.35).

Quinn Weygandt was victorious in the 200 fly in 2:08.41. Craig was a winner in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.26 and Weygandt touched second (1:55.58). Norlander and Ambardekar finished first (58.98) and second (59.12) respectively in the 100 back. Ambardekar picked up a win of her own in the 200 back (2:08.57) with
Elizabeth Turner following in second (2:12.25).
- The 200 free relay of Collins, Anthony, Bacinski, and Tambling took the victory with a time of 1:36.59.
Kate Hallmark was the runner-up in a trio of events, touching second in the 1000 free (10:39.10), 500 free (5:13.01), and 200 IM (2:11.25).
Sam Packard was behind Hallmark in third (2:14.15) in the 200 IM and Hoover was third (2:29.55) in the 200 breast.
