CARLISLE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College baseball team was dealt a pair of losses by Dickinson College that ended the Garnet's season on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils won the opener, 7-6, in 10 innings and took the nightcap, 11-0, in seven innings.
Aidan Sullivan,
Matthew Silvestre,
Jett Shue, and
Max Roffwarg all tallied three hits for the Garnet. Silvestre drove in a team-high two runs while Roffwarg scored twice.
GAME ONE
- Each team scored a run in the third inning. Silvestre knocked in Roffwarg with a two-out base hit to center and Dickinson's run came in on a wild pitch.
- After the Red Devils scored twice in the fourth to take the lead, Swarthmore posted two in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh to go ahead 6-3. Silvestre singled in another run, Sullivan scored on a fielder's choice, Roffwarg and Sullivan both hit an RBI single, and Shue doubled in
Benjamin Buchman.
- Dickinson rallied for three runs in the eighth to even it up at six apiece. The runs scored on a groundout, a triple, and a walk. In the ninth, the Red Devils had the winning run at third base with only one out but
Jack Bowling recorded a strikeout and induced a fly out to send the game into extra innings.
- The Garnet went down in order in the 10
th and Dickinson won it in the bottom of the inning. The Red Devils hit a lead-off double and an error allowed the runner to advance to third. Dickinson then registered a walk-off single through the right side.

GAME TWO
- The Red Devils broke the ice with an RBI double in the second. They padded their lead with three runs in the third, six in the fourth, and one in the fifth. Five of Dickinson's 11 runs were unearned. Swarthmore was held to six hits and left six on base.
