Women's Lacrosse Defeats Immaculata For Sixth Straight Win

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team is off to a 6-0 start for the second year in a row after a 16-11 victory over visiting Immaculata University on Wednesday night.

The Garnet netted the first three goals of the contest and led by multiple goals the rest of the way. Isabela Bloomquist tallied a career-high eight points for the second straight contest, notching five goals and three assists. Abigail Love picked up her fourth hat trick of the season and added one assist for four points. Carly Rodrigues-Reilly also finished with four points, including a career-best three assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Love scored twice just 41 seconds apart to make it 2-0 Swarthmore with 7:43 left in the opening quarter. Kela Watts then hit the back of the net with a woman-up goal 31 seconds later to up the advantage to three. Both teams scored three times over the final seven minutes and the score was 6-3 after one.

- The Garnet began the second with three consecutive tallies to increase the difference to six (9-3). Rodrigues-Reilly beat the goalkeeper then set up goals by Bloomquist and Elizabeth Zack. After a Mighty Macs marker, Love and Watts scored again, both assisted by Bloomquist, and Swarthmore held an 11-4 halftime advantage.

- Bloomquist opened the scoring in the third quarter with her fourth of the evening to push the margin to eight (12-4). Immaculata answered with three of the next four tallies to get within six (13-7) entering the final period.

- The Garnet netted three of the first four goals in the fourth to stifle the Mighty Macs' comeback attempt and go ahead by eight (16-8) with 7:29 to go. Immaculata had the last three markers of the night but the deficit was too large for it to overcome.
