SWARTHMORE 2, HAVERFORD 3
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Haverford started off hot with the first three points of the match. The Garnet would eventually answer back with a 6-3 run to tie the game, 6-6. Adam bookended the stretch with a pair of kills, while Enache added a service ace. Swarthmore distanced themselves from the Fords with seven-unanswered points to pull ahead by seven. On the brink of dropping the opening set, Haverford stormed back with an 11-2 run to steal the opening set, 25-22.

- Swarthmore flipped the script in the second set as they opened with three-straight points. The Garnet earned their first point on a service error, while Aleida Moreno followed with back-to-back aces. The Garnet maintained their lead for the remainder of the set, but the Fords were able to stay within four points for the majority of the stanza. Late in the set, the Garnet built themselves a six-point cushion with a 3-0 run. Swarthmore went on to clinch the set on an attack error, 25-19.

- Both teams remained neck and neck in the third stanza as Miles and Adam tallied back-to-back kills to tie the game at 8-8. The Fords eventually gained separation with a 6-2 run to pull ahead by five points, 16-11. Following a Garnet timeout, the team responded with an Enache kill and a Mountcastle ace to build positive momentum in a crucial third set. However, the Fords were able to hold on and claim the third set, 25-22.

- Haverford raced out to an 8-0 lead in the fourth set before the Garnet earned their first point on a service error. Swarthmore then rallied for a much-needed 6-1 run to propel themselves within three points and force a Fords timeout. Despite Swarthmore's momentum, the Fords built back their lead with a 9-1 swing to take a 10-point advantage, 18-8. Tasked with an uphill battle, the Garnet came all the way back with a 14-3 run to take their first lead since the second set. Swarthmore went on to finish the comeback with an Adam kill, followed by a set-clinching Mountcastle ace, 25-23.

- Haverford continued its trend of leading early with a 6-3 advantage to open the fifth set. Swarthmore battled back to tie the game on consecutive points, 9-9, but surrendered a 3-0 run to stall momentum. The Garnet pulled within two points, but dropped the final set on an attack error, 15-12.
