SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's basketball team wrapped up its three-game homestand with a 62-45 victory over Gwynedd Mercy University to capture its second-straight win on Tuesday night. The Garnet head into Thanksgiving break with a 3-4 overall record. 

Three different players scored in double figures in a well-rounded stat sheet for the Garnet. Anna Hansson led the way with 12 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting, while grabbing a team-high seven rebounds. Alyssa Hayashi contributed 11 points, while Rebekah Gendler added 10 points.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet shot the lights out early in the opening quarter. Gendler and Wingfield connected on three-pointers, while Hansson scored 10 of her 12 points in the opening five minutes of the game to put Swarthmore ahead by eight, 14-6.

- Gendler sank another triple to put Swarthmore ahead by nine points with 1:58 left in the first stanza. The Griffins then countered with a late three to trim their deficit to six points at the first intermission, 19-13. 

- Gwynedd Mercy made it a one-possession game with a three to open the second quarter. However, Swarthmore took control of the game with 10-straight points to expand its lead to 13 points. Hayashi and Gendler both tallied four points during the 10-0 stretch. 

- Carly Murphy hit from three-point range, before Vanessa Amsinger connected on a pair of free throws to take a half-high, 18-point lead. The Griffins added a late bucket to make it a 36-20 game at the half. 

- Coming out of the half, the Garnet continued to build on their commanding lead. The team opened the third quarter with a 12-2 run to pull ahead by 26 points with 4:39 left. Lillian Czub and Norah Wingfield both knocked down three-pointers to propel Swarthmore's run. 

- Gwynedd Mercy was able to shrink its deficit back to 18 points by the end of the third quarter. The visitors ended the stanza on an 8-0 run in the final four minutes, 48-30.

- The Garnet raced out to another fast start in the fourth quarter. Swarthmore used another 12-2 run to take a game-high 28-point lead with 5:58 remaining. The Griffins chipped away with a couple late three-pointers, but were nowhere close to digging themselves out of a double-digit deficit.
