SWARTHMORE, PA. - Competing in their final match of the regular season, the No. 21 Swarthmore men's tennis team took down Franklin & Marshall College by a score of 9-0 on Saturday, Apr. 22.
While F&M kept it competitive, the Garnet came out on top in all three doubles matches, carrying a strong 3-0 lead into singles play. Swarthmore maintained their momentum in singles, sweeping all but one match in straight sets to secure a 9-0 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles:
- While the Diplomats were able to put up a fight against the top ranked Garnet, Swarthmore prevailed in all three doubles matches, seeing wins from the duos of first year

Max Lindstrom/junior
Rushil Patel (8-6) and sophomore

Andres Fente (8-5).
- With the victories, Swarthmore sported a 3-0 lead over F&M headed into singles.
Singles:
- Not letting up on the gas in singles play, Swarthmore came roaring out of the gate. The Garnet swept five of their matches in straight sets, as Lindstrom (6-1,6-2), Fente (6-1,6-2), first year
Lalith Suresh (6-1,6-2), first year
Aamish Pal (6-2,6-2) and senior
Josiah Myers-Lipton (6-2,6-2) all easily dispatched their F&M opponents.
- The Garnet's biggest test came in the No. 3 match. After taking the first set 6-0, Koduri stumbled in the second, dropping 6-4. Despite being forced into a deciding third set, Koduri ultimately triumphed 1[10]-0[3], securing Swarthmore's perfect 9-0 win.
