Karpenko Swims in Top Final, Secures All-American Status

GREENSBORO, NC - Swarthmore College men's swimming junior Andrew Karpenko became the third male swimmer in program history to finish inside the top-eight as he earned All-American distinction in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday night. Karpenko earned his third All-American honor of the meet and the sixth of his career. 

Karpenko earned a spot in the finals with an eighth place finish in the 200 breaststroke prelims. The junior's historic swim set a new program and conference record in the event as he touched the wall at 1:58.37. 



In the evening session, Karpenko placed eighth overall in the top finals with a time of 2:00.72 to secure All-American status.


The 400 freestyle relay of Cole Griscavage, Cami Wilson, Karpenko and Joey Lukner also competed in the morning session. The group placed 25th overall with a time of 3:06.48.
